How do I remove Temp Gauge sending unit?

The PO of our car abused/neglected many things except oil changes and timing belt intervals. Since we bought it for a huge discount I have been fixing it up to like new condition. So much for the discounted price.

BTW you can get the upper and lower radiator hoses from FCP Groton for about 7us each. McKay is the brand.
