Climate Control Vacuum pump very noisy 700 1987

on my 87 760Ti the vacuum pump on the left fender is really noisy when it comes on. no other complaint with its performance. i finally identified it as supplying the climate control with vacuum. is there any process to clean it or something to lower the noise level? thanks this is a great forum.
