Anyone ever reset the piston in the brake junction block?

my 89 240 dl recently gave me a brake failure warning. it seems that the warning is detected by a piston in the brake junction block.

my manual glosses over the procedure to reset the piston and so i am confused.

when i removed the switch wire from the block and unscrewed the nylon plug, all i could see is a small brass thing about the size of a broken golf tee with a spring on it. i removed those 2 pieces. under that appears to be another nylon plug with a screw driver slot in it.

not only do i not see the piston to reset but i dont have a clue what to look for.

i have a feeling it will not be easy to remove the nylon plug with the screw driver slot.

any advice?

i am about to replace my master cylinder. maybe i will get lucky and the piston will move itsself back into position when i pump the pedal but i doubt it.

please help. thank you.
