Surging Idle 700

My wife's 1984 760, b28f v6 has a constant surge at idle. It seems to surge less when it is warmed up. I have checked around and haven't found any vacuum leaks anywhere. The engine just underwent a major tune-up less than 500ml ago. My mechanic said that he's baffled by it. I also talked to a guy the other day who used to own one ( v6 ) and he said that his had the exact same problem and that he never was able to diagnose it. Do any of you guys have any idea what this might be from? Thanks
