Fuel pumps working but whining. Should I replace them now? 200 1984

After 19 years and almost 222,000 miles, both fuel pumps in my beige brick are still pumping, but I'm noticing a bit of a whine coming from the car's rear. After hearing many fuel pump failure stories, I'm thinking of having my dealer install new pumps to avoid that inconvenience.

What do you guys think? Are the newer fuel pumps as reliable as the older ones? And how much should I expect to pay?
