Cam problems 700 1987

Relax - the stuff you have been reading applies to the older B27 and B28 V6, used from '76-'86. Your '87 has a B280F, a much better design, which does not suffer from oiling problems.

You may have something out of adjustment or broken in the valvetrain. Adjusting your valves is a piece of cake once you remove the valve covers (kind of a pain due to the A/C compressor on the one side) because you have simple screw adjusters. Yes, it is a twin OHC, but the cams do act on little rocker arms to actuate the valves - something in there might be amiss.
