Front end problem 700 1988

Hi,

Whenever one front wheel only, hits a bump or a pothole, I feel it on the steering wheel, in that there is a corresponding move of the steering wheel in the direction of the pothole or the bump. If the bump is wide enough for both front wheels to hit it at the same time, this usually doesn't happen.

Which part of the front end could cause this?

Sorry if I couldn't explain the problem better. Hopefully you understand what I mean, especially those who have experienced the same problem.
