I have an 1987 760 (2.3 Turbo) with 180K which has a rather strange problem. First thing in the morning, turn the ignition to the start position, seat belt warning light comes on but none of the other dash lights come on. If I wait for a few seconds (depending on the outside temperature) the rest of the dash lights come on and the car starts (and runs fine.)But if I try to start before the lights come on it will turn over but not start( as if there were no spark). Once the car has been started the dash light delay/starting problem won't recur for the rest of the day. The problem is clearly affected by the outside temperature. This past winter (New Hampshire) on below zero mornings it might take as long as 30 seconds before the dash lights come on. Now that it is in 50's in the morning there is virtually no delay. Car has "new" distributor and fuel pump relay. I have been ignoring the problem but have access to '86 740 for parts for the next couple of weeks. Any suggestions?
