Hatch lock 1800

"My question is, how do I lock the hatch?"

The latch will turn 1/4 turn when the key's in. If the latch works properly, it will only turn (so to open the hatch) with the key in. The key remains in while the latch is unlocked. When you remove the key (hatch closed 'n locked), the latch cannot be turned, so it remains locked.
