So it goes, and all is well so far. Pulled the auto trans and exhaust and drive-shaft on Fri. Stripped out one of the bolt heads on the trans cover (got another form the yard). Sat comes and time for the manual to go in. Tried to change the rear seal and couldnt pop the retainer off and didnt want to press it too much, the leak wasnt too severe and beats screwing up something I dont have the cash to fix. Go to put the pilot bearing in and use a under-size socket to install it. It was too undersized I guess, ended up smashing the bearing. Off to Napa my friend goes. They had 2 pilot bearings one for $17 and the other for $2. Whats up with that??? Anyway, get the pilot bearing in, flywheel goes in smooth, friction plate, pressure plate the same. Figure the trans is going to be a snap to put in. Man what a BITCH!!! It took way too long to get everything straight and the trans in, but it did go in. I had the trans sitting on my chest at one point waiting for my friends arms to regain feeling. Go to tighting the bolts up and had to use the "extension of doom" to get to the top bolt tighted up. Wiring harness is hooked up, and shifter is in. So all I have to do tomorrow is hook up the drive-shaft, mounts and cable and little things. This better work or else I'm screwed. I wonder if Columbus had that same thought leaving the dock?
Anyway another update coming soon.
