Going Brik Hunting Tomorrow

Hello.

Tomorrow, I am going to potentially buy a 1992 240 GL sedan out here in California. The car looks to be in fine condition, with 83K miles on it (Carfax verified). My fiance has an 87 240 GL wagon with 270K on it (which we just drove cross country), so I am fairly optimistic about the new(er) car.

It is for sale through a small dealer, so I don't have access to prior service records (1 owner). Should there be some special things to look for in this car? Sorry for the stupid, general question. I thought I'd throw it out there before I took the plunge. The dealer is asking $5000, and I think I can get him down 500. I'm not sure...
