1981 K-Jet. My car has a rough idle when warm. Also, when the engine is cold it will die at the first two stop signs when I put in the clutch to stop unless I put in the clutch very slowly. Once I've driven a mile, it does not die anymore. Otherwise it runs very smoothly. I dont' know if the rough idle and the dying-when-cold issues are related. The rough idle is the most bothersome.
It has been suggested that I check the things listed below. Any suggestions on the most likely culprit(s), or most logical order to check these things would really be appreciated. Actually, any tips at all would be helpful and appreciated. I don't know how many miles are on the car, but I know it has more than a few because I noticed the crankshaft was grooved from the front seal when I gave it new front seals recently.
- Fuel pump relay (Where is it on an 81?)
- Injector spray patterns
- Clean Injectors or replace them
- Check fuel pressures
- Check control and line pressures
- Check check-valve on warm-up regulator
Is Bentley a good guide on all these things?
