This squeak is driving us bats. Every bearing and bushing from the wheel to the rack has been squirted with aerosol teflon, with no change whatsoever. The squeak is worst when cool (morning) and decreases a little as things get warmer. Only squeaks when turning the steering wheel. Can't duplicate the problem when jacked up, or on stands, with or with the engine running. Won't squeak down on the floor, with or without engine running.
The only bearing not easily accessable is the one just under the steering wheel. The circlip is too strong for my circlip tool, but I've shot teflon in there, too. Anyone have or had this problem? Any ideas are welcome!
