Hood won't shut , use a lot of duck tape, temp, and then...........

tell the BBRD what car you have. 240? 740?

Hinges are pretty tough, seldom bend.

However, the hood is designed to bend in a crash, and has little "V" dents along its side rails for this. If the hinges get really bound up, usually due to never being lubricated, the hood can begin to bend a little at those "V" notches. Then the pin(s) are not in the right place to go into the latches.

Is that what you have?
