Come on, man, nothing lasts forever. Several cars that I have owned have had the rubber bands. Never expected them to last more than ten years, but never had one fail. They must be cheap. Get some more. One car I owned had rubber straps. Inside insulated stainless boxes held together with aluminum rivets. Feel better now?
