Ways to check early Motronic fault codes??? 700 1985

It's an Australian spec car, with the B230ET engine, same as the UK market as far as I know.
I beleive all the early cars (84-85) with the B230ET, got the early Motronic system, it combined all ignition/fuel injection and idle control into the one unit, it was suposed to be quite a good system.

The 2.2 is like the Motronic but with seperate ignition/idle control, i don't know about being able to store codes, but like the Motronic it has the ability to be able to list system faults when hooked up to a service computer.

People often don't realise that all the electronic Bosch systems did have some way of checking for faults, it's just that some are harder than others to get info out of.
