What is the best sequence for reassembling suspension parts? 200

Hi,
I second oty suggestion to put in new shocks. Even if they seem OK they
are old and aren't going to be up to the task. It's nice to have an
extra person with you for reassembly but not necessary. I basically follow
oty assembly. I put in the torque arms first because they are what stops
axle rotation. You usually have to rotate the axle a little to get all the
bolts aligned. Some tools that you can use to help align the bolt holes
helps alot to put it together. Be sure to fully tighten all the bolts to
the specified torque with the weight on the suspension. I don't have a
lift so what I do is lower the car onto ramps. That is just high enough
to get to everything. The extra person is nice because they can move the
axle around for you, while you put the bolts through. Probably the best
thing you can do to bring back that wonderful new car feel to your 240.
Old bushings get really hard and you don't notice because it's such a
gradual thing. Wish you well.
