Possible alternate source for Voltage Stabilizer:
Vicor DC-DC convertors. Probably at www.vicor.com or else search via google or such. You may need to be a wee bit handy with electronic jargon to negotiate the procurment and installation. I'm not promising that they'll be any cheaper than Volvo part.
I've used 'em in industrial controls with good success, although I am nervous about their sensitivity to input voltage transients. In auto electric system, I'd install with capacitor across input terminals and resistor in series with input power lead. This to dampen transients.
260Z has one voltage stabilizer for oil press/water temp gauge and another for fuel level. These are built into gauges rather than separate module. Have not had a problem yet at close to 300k miles.
