Still desperately seeking 1993 BlACK 240 sedan 1993

None at the moment, but I've seen one or two that might have qualified.

Exactly as you said. A ten year old car is subject to a few faults here and there. I'll keep my eyes peeled. I think if your search criteria is realistic, you will find one. Of course everyone wants a cream puff 93 with 28000 miles... but realistically you might find a car you're interested in. The more time you have the better.

If you know a used car dealer, you might be able to have them find one. Or you could go through one of the ebay wholesaler/dealers. A lot of those guys (the ones who are dealing a lot of cars) see a LOT of pieces at auction. Plus the well connected ones can contact their wholesalers and find cars that you want. Pretty soon you can have almost exactly the car you want. As long as you don't get too silly about "and it has to have a sunroof and a tan interior and a 5-speed and miles under 50k" then your chances greatly improve.

I'm just suggesting this, having worked in that business.

If you suggest or even pretty much commit to buy one for a certain price (i.e. plan on spending exactly that price because that's what you'll get charged), a good wholesaler will find one.

Also if you break the 100k rule and take miles up to, for example, 110,000, you stand a little more of a chakce. 100k is the cutoff between "good miles" and "miles over", which can make a big difference at an auction. However, there are still a lot of 240s with miles under.
