I've done it a dozen times 900 1998

34n118w

I've got the smaller 12mm bolt out of the switch/trans. and the larger 22mm nut off the shaft. I've also got the switch pulled all but about 3/8" off the trans. shaft.

I cannot get the switch the remaining 3/8" off because the trans. fluid line is in the way. The switch won't rotate clockwise far enough because it hits the trans case, and it can't rotate counterclockwise much at all because the pan sits proud of the case. The trans fluid line won't bend either. (If Volvo had moved that bend in the line just 1 inch further back.....it wouldn't be in the way).

What am I missing? What's your trick to getting this switch the remaining 3/8" off.

[Right now, I can't get the trans fluid line loose because there's no way to get a wrench to rotate; because the exhaust system is in the way. So do I have to drop the exhaust system to loosen the trans fluid line so I can get it out of the way.]

I'm so close, yet so far.
