I found a 144 in great condition, and better yet with a perfect 4 speed w/OD.
One problem....the engine needs to be refurbished. I would call myself a competant mechanic, not excellent, with a fair to decent shop. Is re-building this engine getting over my head? Time isn't much of an issue.
Also someone I take to know a great deal about Volvo's told me that with most rebuilds machining the engine is unnecessary....could this be?
