got parts, yes! recoverability.......mebbe..... 200 1979

Well, here's the skinny. Overheated somewhat. Drove OK, no oil in water, temp was one redwidth below red. Did that several years. Then shifter gave trouble going onto reverse, now it won't go atall. Fuel guage lies. Tachometer worked OK.

Stereo iffy. Blower motor doesn't blow. Rust along lower edge of left cargo window, behind LR and RR wheels and at lower end of LH A pillar. Trim panel show water damage on one or two doors from shrunken scraper moldings. Seats mediocre to awful. Good ones swapped into other Volvos. Carpet is brown and OK.

Cargo space full of stuff in "Southern Storage". Trailer hitch for another Volvo, big box with Business phone system in it, other misc. junk. All glass OK. Cargo door struts & hinges OK. Car has trailer hitch installed. Wired so the BFWS light doesn't come on. Wheels & tires: summer good summer not.

Has four speed with switched O.D. trans. Clutch OK. OD said 179000 for a couple years before I shut it down. Color: chocolate brown paint and carpet, black interior plastic & dash, tan seats & trim. Most plastic OK, not cracked. Arm rests are newer, dark blue.

Recoverable? Not by me.

Planning to clean it, photo it, put on eBay, or part out, all in next 3 months.
Homeowners' Association is politely asking "When....?" Of course, when that one's gone there's still the two 1984 244's to get gone, too.

Regards,

Bob
