Speedometer/odometer don't work

While I am visiting this board with tales of my wonderful but currently non-starting '79 Brick....


My speedometer has not worked in two years and my odometer has not worked in about eight years, and I'm thinking it may be time to think about getting them fixed. Any clues as to where to start to figure it out? Thanks.

It is funny, re the odomoter, when people say "Wow! 197,000 miles!" and I tell them it's more like 300,000 at this point.
