Mr. Sargent pointed out an important distinction; the 940T had two different belts. One was for 91-92, the other for 93-95. But there does not appear to be a different belt listed for the later 940T w/EGR, which were listed as 100k belt interchange cars. The non-EGR cars had 50k interval belts.
Curiously, the 960/S90 had an extended (90 or 100k) belt change interval for--I believe--EGR cars only. Naturally that is a different T-belt and tensioning system. But I guess my point is, I'd be pretty pissed if I drove to 95k and the belt puked. Because Volvo said it was "ok" to go farther.
I know a guy who changes timing belts at like HALF of their recommended interval. Sometimes less. Any hint of wear and he's in there changing them. He changed one on a 1995 960, that had 30k on it...
