Pricing for 164's and other questions 140-160 1970

164 pricing seems to be all over the ballpark.

The M410 manual overdrive tends to add to the price as the car is somewhat dull when equipped with the (somewhat unreliable) 3-speed BW35 automatic.

Since both carburetor and fuel injection fans are out there, induction doesn't seem to affect prices. Be aware, however, that some of the FI bits are rare and/or pricey.

As with any other old car, unless you are looking for a labor of love, find the nicest you can. It is ALWAYS cheaper to buy a nice car than to fix up a heap.

The good news is that $3500-4000 will get you a VERY nice car.

The bad news is that only 146,008 were produced worldwide. Many went to North America where stick and luxury car don't go together. Be prepared to wait for a primo example, expecially if you insist (as you well should) on a stickshift car.
