Looking for Advice on buying a 1988 765 Volvo Wagon 700

I've only had my '88 745t (183,000 miles) home for a week and a half and I couldn't be more pleased. Mine was also serviced by a Volvo mechanic and while that is no guarantee of anything, I'm glad to have the stamped service book in my possesion. It's a very smooth running engine, and overall the car is a much better ride than my '95 855t. Nowhere near as fast though.

I wouldn't have considered a car with this mileage were it not for the help and information available on this board. The 700/900 FAQ is priceless. I don't have any piston slap or oil leaks, and the radiator, water pump and turbo have been replaced by the previous owner. Also, the A/C has already been converted to R134. I bought it for peanuts and enjoy doing my own work so I think I'm set.

Look at the FAQ (top of the page, pull down "Features" menu) and you'll get an idea of what to look for.

Good luck,
--
Erwin in Memphis, '95 855t
