thread size on oil drain plug

I'm thinking about putting in an oil temp gauge to further enhance my need for too much info. The car is an '82; what is the thread on the drain plug, so I don't order the wrong one? My dad likes British cars, so thread size is a touchy subject...Luckily, the Swedes like metric. Anyway, I also want to waste some money on an oil pressure gauge that goes higher than 3 bar. Would a VDO 5 bar gauge be a direct swap?
