Hm...

I don't have a 240 sedan anymore so I can't go and check it. People used to come to the shop with that problem, though, and that's how we did it.

So, either I'm not thinking of the same bolts, or they changed the design for 86 and up cars. I know they changed the trunk sheet metal.

I can't envision it right now since it's been a while since I saw it done, but it was only a few minute endeavor to do the job that way.
