Do I have a Case?

Replacing the heater core requires that both heater hoses be disconnected, then re-connected to the new core. Doing this means a lot of yanking and tugging and frequently destroys the existing hose. Almost certainly they tore a hose. No responsible dealer would have replaced the core without also replacing the heater hoses, if only to ensure the job was done correctly.

In any event, this illustrates again why it is so important to replace hoses before they fail. If there is anybody reading this with ten-year-old hoses on their car, CHANGE THEM ALL before you rue the day.
