GMB waterpump failure

The Annex Technik was purchased some time ago and I believe it came from Groton but at this point I can't be sure. Of course I can find all the receipts except the ones I want or need... It is unlike the GMB in that it has a "closed impeller (?)" meaning that viewed from the back the impeller looks solid, the blades are formed between two solid pieces. I can't pass judgement on its beefiness.

If I fault on the belt tension it would be that they might be a bit loose. I don't have a history of the power accessories on my cars having the bearings go bad. I normally change cam belts and drive belts every 50,000 miles and the waterpump, front engine seals, and tensioner every other time (100,000 miles). I do the complete change out on the front of the engine when I purchase a car and then again 100,000 miles later if I still have it. I changed the timing belt and drive belts today when I was doing the pump.

I do have the original setup with the fan/clutch mounted on the waterpump shaft. I usually grab the Zerex green but sometimes the Prestone green, always flushed and renewed before two years of use.

Randy
