Hello everyone. Guess what, Even my 1971 164 Has a fuel problems. But I know shes ready to turn over the sencond i get fuel to the carbs. Heres the question. How do I get fuel to the carbs? the fuel lines are clean up to where (I think) the fuel filter is on the block (about 4" away from it). I used my friends air compressor to clean out the line starting at the tank and letting I go for about 5 minutes. I then connected the fuel line back to the carbs lines, but not connecting the carbs. I then let it go for about another 5 minutes and I was feeling amazing pressure. And i don't have any leaks. Does any one know what could be the problem. This is the same car that had the carbs catch fire. I've only replaced (what looks to me) whats been burnt. By that i mean the air cleaner box. I know my electrical system work though.
Question #2:
Where Can i get a good seat kit for the beast. I only need the webbing at the moment, but eventualy i will have them redone completely. I got a great job so I'll be able to afford that by the summer, maybe, hopefully, most likely not. Mind you, money is still an issue.
Queston #3:
Should I let my shop teacher turn 1969 145 into a Chevy V-6 running machine with a 5 speed? He realy wants to, but he can't find one for the same great price of free. But I'm not sure if i want try getting the beast to run first or not. right now I got then in storage, and my 242 (the only running one... at times) is getting fixed by Volvo, I estimating a few paychecks going there.
Thanks for you help. And please excuse my rant, but no one around my house cares about my cars, untill the one that does run stops.
