Ah....

Re: brackets...I was thinking other side of engine, e.g. A/C compressor. Disregard...

It stands to reason that the bracket would be different, because the turbo also lives on the same side of the block. If this is the case, then you should be able to remove the alt. from one bracket and attach to the other, then install in car. But again, no direct experience with this ....
