What can I expect to pay to have an engine put in?

Check local rental places... the kind that rent tools. I got a hoist for $20/day.

Do the prep work first, and have the new engine prepped to go in... THEN rent the hoist. If you prep right, You wind up actually needing the hoist for <2hours.

One thing, though, you'll need a vehicle with a hitch to get the hoist home - at least I did with the one I rented.
