engine missing

Thanks for the replies, even the ones from the budding comedy writers----after opening the hood, I actually found the engine.
As for the real problem, all the fluids are fine, I did pull the spark plug wire on the problem cylinder, and that didn't affect the way it was running, thus confirming there was no action from that cylinder. When I pulled the wire from each of the other cyldiners, there was a noticeable difference. If the only remedy is a new set of rings or new engine, it's probably time to give up on the car------it's a 1990, 160,000 miles and several cosmetic issues already. Dang, I just put in a new timing belt 10,000 miles ago too!
