do they make gasoline-friendly electrical wire???

I recommend finding some wire with Teflon insulation. You may have to hunt around but Teflon and a few other materials are the only fuel proof insulators on the market. Standard PVC fuel resistant wire will work but could grow brittle over time. What ever you choose to use you should take a small piece of it and soak it in gasoline for a few days to see how it fairs. Usually a soak of 72 hours will show you what will happen to the insulation. You can use a small glass jar with a metal lid.

Good Luck
