I put one in the glovebox in my 242T and just left the door open when I used it. I bought another for my 745T, but never got around to installing it. My thoughts are aligned with those who recommended the glovebox and the center console. I bought a unit that takes an external speaker and bought an external speaker for about $3 for a CB. That way I could close the glovebox. I only listen to the truckers anyway and don't talk much. I also have a handheld that can run off batteries or plug into the lighter. Its antenna is not as good as a proper CB antenna, but it does an OK job and I can just prop it up on whatever I have on the passenger seat. A proper CB antenna really helps, and I thought about wiring the car anyway, even for the handheld, but have yet to get to that, either.
