Oxidized and swirled paint- Can I avoid a re-paint?

R5: Silver and red, in my experience have been the Achilles Heel of Volvo. For some reason, neither is particularly durable, and both are prone to fade and oxidation. Your best bet is to take the car to your local trusted body shop and ask the expert. He/she might be able to get the finish 'back up' with a little buffing, though, in the long run, you'll be looking at a repaint. Save your pennies, since a decent job (assuming no body work and no strip off) will be at least $1500...at least here in NE Ohio
