Instrument Panel Circuit Board Replacement

My nephew's 940 has a crack in the flexible circuit board on the back of the instrument panel, leading to intermittant failure to charge the alternator. Has anyone either removed or repaired these flex boards? Tips? Is there a better way, such as somebody who repairs Yazaki panels?
