Winter in coming in N.W. Ohio and its an unusual 65 deg F. this week end so thought I would take advantage of doing some PM on my 86 740 and 91 940, both with around 200,000 miles. This is what I have recently done, looking for any other suggestion to eliminate possiblities of breakdown.
86 740 (runs great, little rough when cold, then runs great)
distributor a week ago
fuel pump relay 3 weeks ago
radiator last year
air filter two months
new vac hoses last year
Some things I am thinking are new injector orings, fuel filter, trany filter, timing belt and fuel pressure reg.
With 209,000 miles should I wait for signs of fuel pump problems, or should I bit the bullet and change them (in tank and main) now? How about check valve? By the way where is the fuel filter on the 740 and 940?
91 840 (runs great)
distr cap and rotor lastnight
fuel pump reg last night
injector oring last night
vac hoses last night
fuel pump relay 1 year
radio suppression relay 6 mo
rpm sensor 1 year
battery and starter 18 mo
Some things thinking are new fuel filter, trany filter and timing belt
