There is an oil temp gauge with a hard to find sender for your oil pan, and an ambient temperature gauge with its hard to find sender. Are you thinking of one of these? Neither measure the water temperature in the cylinder head as does your gauge. Sometimes questions that can't be understood exactly go unanswered.
