I fixed it, but I don't know how! 1800 1972

Volvo brilliantly placed the ECU directly under the heater control valve on the injected 1800s. Of course, heater control valves don't last forever, and when they leak, they do so on the ECU.

I would guess that at some point in your cars life, that is what was going on, possibly causing corrosion problems at teh plug. I'd clean them connections real good. And think real hard about doing away with the heater control valve and sticking a manual valve under the hood somewhere. Ain't right, but...
