Engine compression and rebuilding 700 1989

I'm almost hesitant to recommend rebuilding any B230F engine. The reason for this is because there are a lot of lower-mileage used engines available for well under $1000. The labor costs of a GOOD rebuild are at least that. Just the labor; not the parts.

So usually you are better off just buying a used engine and plopping it in. That's not nearly as labor intensive, and the engine itself isn't even terribly much. The right mechanic can do a good rebuild. But the wrong one can do a bad one. If you're SURE you have the best guy around, then a rebuild would be all right. But even I don't bother rebuilding the B230F engines. I just swap them out.
