checking B21FT sensors & vacuum hose sizes

Hi
I removed my B21FT pancake manifold to replace the thermal time switch (and swap to the B230 style... taking forever to finish, speically with school in now) in hopes to alleviate my warm starting problem. While I am under there I want to check the rest of sensors and possibly replace the vacuum hoses.
What is the best way to test these sensors? I was planning on using a multimeter and resistances. Gauges and car ran good before.

Resistance test is only going to test it @ cold engine temp.
suggestions?

What size vacuum hoses does the B21FT require?
which are the best to get?
as most under the manifold look reinforced, and have mesh appearance on outside of them.

anything else to do while the intake manifold is off?

take care
