Easy to tell if your "down under" car has the split model or the one I had in the US on my '84.
In the center of both pulleys is a large bolt head (to the crankshaft). The split model has several smaller bolt heads (and a couple of nuts) surrounding the center bolt.
If yours does NOT have the surrounding bolts, it's the same harmonic balancer/pulley that was on my '84, and it DOES wear and wobble. Here's why: in order to absorb the vibrations, this unit is made in two parts, the heavy center unit (balancer) and the pulley surrounding it. Holding these two parts together is a rubber section that rots away, allowing the two to seperate. I discovered mine while attempting to stop my A/C belt from squeaking, and noticed I was torquing the pulley off center, and had a wobble.
Shade-tree mechanic temporary fix: you can carefully screw sheetmetal screws into the rubber area, but you'll need a new pulley.
Hope this helps.
