1987 760 t: when braking from 40mph or greater my steering wheel shakes and i can feel the brake pedal shake, too. i am afraid my wheels are going to snap off! only happens when braking, never when accelerating, and only at high speed (like braking on the freeway). also, i have been getting a brake warning light, but i am not sure to believe it because i seem to have enough brake fluid in the resevoir and also the two wires that lead to the top cap of that resevoir (i presume they form some part of a sensor that warns of low fluid levels) have no original insulation on them (i have recovered them with electrical tape since discovering their poor condition, but i don't know if maybe the wires are touching somewhere and possibly setting off the warning light. i know if i get out and wiggle the wires a little the warning light will go off and i know that sometimes going over a speed bump or pothole will cause the light to flicker or come on....so i don't know if the wires are touching or if i actually have a brake problem, but with the wheels shaking as they do i am growing concerned. oh, also, my mechanic checked the brakes about a month ago and said they were fine, i also had my tires rotated and the problem did not clear up...
thanks for any ideas, brickboarders, on what could cause the shaking, how much it might cost to fix and any sort of brake connection...
