I am replacing a timing belt on my brick after the old belt discovered missing plenty of gear teeth on it resulted a break down on the interstate. I have followed all your recommendations on the archive and believe me, they all provided tremendous help. Since my brick quit suddenly, I could not get TDC prior to removal of crank pulley and the old belt. Now, everything is ready for the placement of the new timing belt. My crank gear is at TDC verified thru no. 1 spark plug hole (pressure check with finger and screw driver as well), intermediate gear is @ approx. 30 degrees pointing to the mark. Here is the part that I'm not sure... The cam gear is pointing to the timing mark but when I checked the distributor, the rotor position is pointing to no. 2 plug wire. My engine is B230FT with EZ117K ignition system. The plug wire connection on the distributor cap goes from 2,1,3, and 4,. How do you know where these connections are if you flip the cap over? It has four terminals inside which I think numbered like these. Bottom right-no.2, top right-no.1, top left-no.3, and bottom left-no.4. I need to ensure that the cam, crank, and intermediate are aligned before I continue placing the timing belt. Thanks in advance. Dan
