Hi--Iv found POR-15 rust preventive coating to be an excellent rust preventive paint for areas NOT subject to sunlight. It usually sells for 30.00 a qt. Can be found at marine supply stores and auto-restoration parts vendors. Make sure to wear rubber gloves--its sticky stuff.
