Thats the kind of info I need.

The shop that did my install is exclusively volvo. Forever.

Im thinking they should have used a washer, because Ive read so much about this. But they're telling me its the mount. Im not totally convinced. Thats why I was hoping I could get a few folks to take a look at they're 240 and tell me what they see, especially if it was a relatively recent install.

I looked at my 78, and it has the little 1/2" bulge. But its over 250,000 mi.
I want to look at my daughters 82(approx 250,000 mi)but she moves to quickly.

My volvo gurus are scheduled to redo the job in a couple of days. I dont have a problem with it, I just dont want to abandon the strut mounts if theres nothing wrong with em. The proposal is to exchange the mount for volvo brand mounts(approx 100bucks ea). The ones I bought came from a supplier who Ive never had a problem with(23 bucks ea)
