So I just replaced the plugs in my 1985 745t. I've been meaning to do it for awhile (don't know how old the old ones were) and finally found some time.
Before changing the new ones in I'd been having some wierd electrical issues. Basically I would have low charge at idle and high charge while driving at highway speeds (yes, I know, dash gauge isn't precise, but its accurate enough for basic ranges).
Now that I've changed the plugs the problem seems to have disappeared (I'll have to drive it more to be certain). Is it possible for a plug to be or go bad? What happens when it does? Other indicators I may have missed? I know the distributor caps were tight because I check them regularly... is it possible one of them is bad and that I shifted it when I replaced the plugs, temporarily fixing the problem?
all responses welcome, thanks in advance.
