transmission/overdrive 700 1989

My OD runs when it wants and turns off/on when it wants. The connection on the trans. seems to be pretty secure. I've replaced the Transmission and the OD relay. Any ideas as to how to fix it would be great. I wouldn't mind putting in a toggle switch to switch for the OD. This was happening before I changed transmissions. The car has 200K and the transy has about 100k on it.
